Sarah Goddard, the founder & principal artist of Visage
Silhouettes has been performing the art of silhouette cutting at prestigious
events and private parties for over four years.
This young vibrant performer has a design background and studied BA Visual
Communication at Maidstone in Kent. The broad course touched on all aspects
of communicating art to the masses, but her main specialisation was illustration,
particularly in portraiture. However, this was not where her obsessions for
silhouettes started.
It was only when leaving University that she stumbled across an art gallery
in her neighbouring town of Henley on Thames where she was introduced to the
rare art form of silhouettes. After seeing silhouettes being crafted first
hand by former Disney artist and friend, Claudette Willis, she quickly found
her niche.
After entertaining at numerous corporate functions, parties, weddings and
bar-mitzvahs, Sarah had the great honour of being invited to tour India on a
multi-national promotional campaign with other global leading artists. This is
where she realised that there was nothing more that could compare to delighting
people with silhouettes. Upon her return to the UK, Visage was set up.
